1. Who We Are

Classalogs ("Classalogs", "we", "us", or "our") provides AI-assisted study tools that help students prepare for their specific classes, curricula, and standardized tests. Classalogs is operated from the State of Florida, United States.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, how long we keep it, and the choices and rights you have. We aim to collect only what we need.

2. Information We Collect

Account information: when you create an account we collect your display name, email address, and a securely hashed password (managed by our authentication provider). If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address from Google.

Study data: the classes you save, study sets you generate, quiz and flashcard activity, streaks, level and XP, daily usage counts, and preferences such as your study goal and theme.

Content you submit to AI features: the notes, questions, prompts, and any images you upload when using the tutor chat or the study-guide, flashcard, and question generators.

Technical information: basic data your browser sends automatically, such as your IP address (used for rate limiting and abuse prevention), device and browser type, and aggregate, privacy-preserving usage analytics.

Payment information (only if paid plans are enabled): payments are handled by our payment processor (Stripe). We do not receive or store your full card number — only limited details such as your plan, billing status, and a processor customer identifier.

3. How Your Data Is Stored

If you are signed in, your account and study data are stored on our behalf by our authentication and database provider (Supabase) and protected by row-level security so that you can only access your own data.

If you use Classalogs without an account, your study data is kept locally in your browser and is not sent to our servers. Clearing your browser storage removes it.

4. How We Use Your Information

To provide, personalize, and maintain the service — including remembering your saved classes, progress, preferences, and plan.

To generate AI study materials in response to your requests.

To keep the service secure and reliable, prevent abuse, and enforce plan limits.

To communicate with you about your account, such as email verification, password resets, and important service notices.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your content to train our own models.

5. AI Features and Processing

When you use an AI feature, the text you submit — and any image you upload — is sent to our third-party AI provider (Anthropic) to generate a response, which is then returned to you.

We send only what is needed to fulfill your request. Under our provider agreement, this data is used to generate your output and is not used to train the provider’s models. Please avoid submitting sensitive personal information in AI prompts.

6. Service Providers We Share Data With

We share limited data with trusted providers who help us operate Classalogs, only as needed to run the service: Supabase (authentication and database), Anthropic (AI processing), Vercel (hosting and privacy-preserving analytics), and, where enabled, Stripe (payment processing) and Cloudflare (domain, security, and email delivery).

These providers are bound by their own terms and privacy commitments. We do not share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing.

7. Cookies and Local Storage

We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to secure your session, and we use your browser’s local storage to save preferences and (for guests) your study data. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

8. Data Retention

We keep your account and study data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify the associated data, except where we are required to retain certain records by law. Locally stored data is removed when you clear it or delete your account.

9. Your Rights and Choices

From the Settings page you can, at any time, edit your profile, change your password, download a copy of your data, clear your study history, or delete your account entirely.

Depending on where you live (for example, under the laws of Florida, other U.S. states, or the EU/UK), you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, or to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@classalogs.com.

10. Data Security

We use industry-standard safeguards — including encryption in transit (HTTPS), hashed passwords, database access controls, and a content security policy — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and to promptly address any issues.

11. Children’s Privacy

Classalogs is intended for students. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and we do not target the service to them. If you are between 13 and the age of majority where you live, please use Classalogs with the involvement of a parent, guardian, or school. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

12. International Users

Classalogs is operated from the United States. If you use the service from outside the U.S., you understand that your information will be processed in the United States and other countries where our providers operate.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective" date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of Classalogs after changes take effect means you accept the revised policy.
